CRSU Virtual Cochrane Session 2021

Title: Right question, right methods, right now

Introduction: The variety of analytical methods available to Cochrane authors is expanding. However, with this increasing choice comes increasing confusion around the most appropriate analysis for a particular review title. In this session, members of the NIHR Complex Review Support Unit will use real world examples of when a particular analytical approach can be helpful and when the approach may not be suited to the data. In a series of mini-presentations we will consider when to use (and when not to use) the following methods: component analysis for complex intervention reviews, network meta-analysis, test accuracy versus prognosis and living systematic review methods. Throughout the presentations we will also consider those instances where quantitative analysis may not be appropriate.
